    Summary The Facilities Management Service (FMS) of the Phoenix VA VA Medical Center is recruiting for a Maintenance Mechanic. The incumbent will be assigned to the Plumbing/Mechanical section within the Maintenance and Operations Section of the Engineering Service at the Phoenix VA Medical Center. The incumbent will perform building and/or utility maintenance and operation duties. Responsibilities Duties include but are not limited to: Installs, modifies, and repairs new and existing high-pressure piping systems and equipment such as steam, heating, steam generation, and hydraulic systems, steam generators, flash and expansion tanks, condensate, vacuum, and circulating pumps, and radiators. Works from building plans, blueprints, and sketches to plan and lay out the routing, placement, pitch, elevation, pressure reduction, expansion, and operation of various piping systems and equipment. They install, modify, and repair systems. Sets up system routes, placing and cutting route openings, placing hangers for proper pitch and elevation, and determining and installing such things as risers, flexible branches, expansion joints, pumps, gauges, and pressure regulators in operation of the systems. Installs, maintains, repairs and troubleshoots hospital control and medical support machinery such as 2500W to 2.5MW portable and emergency gas/diesel generators, medical air compressors, medication carts and vacuum pumps. Installs, troubleshoots, repairs and performs preventative maintenance to all laundry equipment and related systems in the laundry facility. Responsible for a full range of preventative maintenance, installation, troubleshoot and repairs to all laundry equipment and related systems in the laundry facility.     About the maintenance technician position:

    We’re looking for a talented maintenance technician who will be responsible for addressing an array of apartment and property maintenance duties as specified by the maintenance supervisor and/or property manager, and for maintaining the highest standards in customer service and curb appeal of the assigned property.
